Band

The band’s releases appear on sketch / NSBM labels, such as Autistiartili Records (2004), Tanhu Records (2004 – 2008), Zyklon-B Productions (2006), Northern Sky Productions (2006), W.T.C. Productions (2011 – 2024).

Members

Ville Pystynen is the main character behind the bands Horna and Sargeist. He released NSBM music via his label Grievantee Productions, e.g. Hammer in 2008 (the album ‚Shoax‘, obviously a mix of the words ‚Shoah‘ and ‚Hoax‘), Kristallnacht (2006) and Raven Dark (2006). He released music of his solo projects via NSBM labels: Pagan War Distro (Necroslut, 2021), Northern Sky Productions (Vritra, 2006), Winterreich Productions (Gandr, 2009). The cover of Gandr’s 2011 album ‚Talvitunnelmia‘ shows Pystynen wearing merch of the NSBM band Peste Noire. He was part of a NSBM band called Blutschrei which existed until 2008 and then turned into his still active band Finnentum where Pystynen is the only member. He played live guitar for the NSBM band Drowning the Light (2009) and is listed guest musician between 2009 and 2013. He was part of the band Vordr together with Lars Holm of the NSBM band Satanic Warmaster. He is part of the current live setup of the BM band Nightbringer. He recorded the album ‘Kings of Misery’ for the band Incriminated which consisted of NSBM musicians. He is credited as engineer on the 2005 Satanic Warmaster album ‚Black Metal Kommando / Gas Chamber‘. During the 2000ers, Pystynen tended to use NS codes in interviews / social media and to give racist / antisemitic / anti-muslim or even openly NS statements in public, but apparently has stopped doing so since years.

Lauri Penttilä is the main character behind Satanic Warmaster. He owns the NSBM label Werewolf Records. He is or was part of the (NS)BM-bands Goatmoon, Gestapo 666, Blutrache and White Death and contributed to NSBM bands such as Aryan Blood, Evil, Hellkult and Vothana.

Pasi Teitto was part of the live setup of the NSBM band Goatmoon (2016 / 2017). He is contributing to Goatmoon albums as guest musician since 2007 until today.

Perttu Pakkanen played bass in Sargeist (2009 – 2016). He played together with J. Pervertor in his current band Vitsaus and his former band Neutron Hammer, who was live guitarist for the NSBM band Goatmoon and plays guitar in Ride for Revenge.

Samuli Pesonen was part of the live setup of White Death (2014 – 2015). He is the current live guitarist for Satanic Warmaster.

Jarno Hemminki did some vocals for the 2014 album ‚Fimbulwinter‘ of Satanic Warmaster. He wrote lyrics for the 1995 demo of the NSBM band Dysangelium.

Anssi Mäkinen’s is part of the band Ymir and formerly in the band Ravine where he played with his brother Ossi, who had a NSBM project called Trotzreich. His former bands Khert-Neter, Mental Terror and Ravening shared members with the NSBM band Satanic Warmaster.

Jarkko Heilimo played drums in Sargeist in 2004. His former band Khert-Neter featured Lars Holm of the NSBM band Satanic Warmaster.

Tuomas Rytkönen is part of the BM band Sargeist, he was part of the NSBM band Peste Noire and contributed to the NSBM band Baise Ma Hache.

Ville Markkanen plays together with Lars Holm of the NSBM band Satanic Warmaster in his other band Hoath. He played drums in Archgoat (2015 – 2017) and is listed as Studio musician for Archgoat (2021, 2022), Hellwind-Vritrahn (2024) and The True Werwolf (2024), which all feature members of the Finnish NSBM scene. Horna’s current guitarist Mynni Luukkainen was also live bassist for Hoath.

There is a photo on the internet which went quite viral, showing Famine (Peste Noire) with Sven Zimper of Absurd and Horna members , wearing Absurd merch (link).
