Band

Most of the time, the band worked with Northern Heritage label, which is owned by Mikko Aspa. Aspa is active in the Finnish NSBM scene, sells NS merch in his shop and releases NS music via his labels Northern Heritage and Freak Animal Records. He also runs the RAC band Vapaudenristi.

The 2004 „Ceremony“ EP was reissued on cassette by NS label Breath of Pestilence.

Members

Ossi Mäkinen had a NSBM project called Trotzreich, which only released one demo in 2002.

The live setup of Baptism include Tuomas Rytkönen and his brother
Lauri, who are part of Horna and Sargeist. Tuomas was also active in the NSBM band Peste Noire in 2018 and contributed keyboards to the NSBM band Baise Ma Hache in 2020 (‚The Pale Riders – L’appel du vide‘).

The band played the NSBM festival Fireblade Force in Germany in 2010.

The band played the Under the Black Sun festival in Germany in 2011.

The band played the NSBM-friendly Northern Lights Festival in Austria in 2011.

The band played the NSBM-friendly Hammer Open Air festival in Finland in 2011.

In November 2012, the band played the ‚Black Flames of Blasphemy‘ Festival in Helsinki. Besides some at least dubious bands, the lineup also contained NSBM bands like Goatmoon and Godless North.

The band played the Finnish Steelfest in 2013, 2014 and 2017, a festival where established bands are deliberately booked along with NSBM / far right extremist bands.

The band played the NSBM-friendly Turku Saatanalle festival in Finland in 2014.

The band played the NSBM-friendly Black Flames of Blasphemy festival in Finland in 2014.

The band played the NSBM-friendly Cathedral of the Black Goat Fest in Illinois, USA in 2017.

Contacts

The band released a split album with Ville Pystynen’s solo project Vritra via Vermines Pestifera in 2005. Pystynen is the main character behind bands like Horna and Sargeist.

On the 2002 album ‚The Beherial Midnight‘, Satanic Warmaster aka Lauri Penttilä contributed to the lyrics, for the 2010 ‚Chalice of Death‘ EP he did the cover artwork. Lauri Penttilä is the main character behind Satanic Warmaster. He owns the NSBM label Werewolf Records. He is or was part of the (NS)BM-bands Goatmoon, Gestapo 666, Blutrache, Horna and White Death and contributed to NSBM bands such as Aryan Blood, Evil, Hellkult and Vothana.
